The Death of Dulmatin
Densus 88, the Indonesian anti terrorist team, had killed Dulmatin, an international terrorist during a police raid in Pamulang, Jakarta on 9 March 2010. This Arabic Javanese was wanted for the 2002 Bali bombings which took the lives of 202 people, mostly foreign tourist. He was a senior figure in Jemaah Islamiyah and was one of the most wanted terrorists in Southeast Asia.
He received training in al-Qaeda camps in Afghanistan and was believed to have been the protégé of Azahari Husin. Under his guidance he became an electronic specialist and expert bomb maker. Together with Azahari, he assembled cars bomb use in the 2002 Bali Bombing and set them off with a mobile phone.
Allegedly, he provided explosive expertise and training to other militants in the Philippines since 2003 and was involved in exchange fire with the Philippines’s military in January 2007 on the southern island of Jolo in which radio intercept and human intelligence indicated that he was wounded.
Under the Reward For Justice Program, The United State offered a 10 million for his capture.
